Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This photo was taken on 10/02/2010 while I was hiking around Sullivan Lake. Sullivan Lake is a wilderness area located in the Colville National Forest of Northeastern Washington.

Since this was a perfect fall day, I brought only a day pack. Given that this is iKnifeCollector, some of you may be wondering what kind of steel I brought with me. Well, here's a little inventory:

* Rat RC-3 fixed blade.
* Leatherman Wave multi-tool.
*Spyderco-Byrd Cara Cara (it's a better knife than you may think).
* Glock 30SF .45 acp pistol with a couple of magazines of ammo.
* A folding saw.

I also had a bunch of other survival items in my Maxpedition pack. This is a remote area and anything could happen...so it pays to come with at least a modicum of preparation. The trail that I was hiking was narrow and quite steep (mountain trails usually are). I had to cross multiple rock slides on my hike. It would have been quite easy for me to have fallen and become injured. Additionally, there are some large predators in the area (bear...but some cougar as well). In any event, had I gotten stuck on the mountain, I had plenty with me to get by for a few days. Through God's blessing, nothing happened and it was a perfect day!
