I guess I can say it was a Christmas present. My sister-in-law gave me a gift card and this is what showed up.
Looks to be a handy user.
Fit and finish is very good. Blade opens up smoothly and the frame lock secured it quite nicely.
Ol' Grumpy is a happy camper.

Glad you're happy, JJ! The world needs more happiness.
I've been considering picking up a Squid for a while, especially when I saw the ones with Micarta scales, & the ones with Jade G-10. Then they came out with their "large" model -- the "XM", which stands for, of all things, "extra-medium". That's the Squid I need in my life, the XM. :)
Happy is nice .... a new knife is even nicer!! Have always liked CRKT knives. Used to buy a bunch of their Drifter models to hand out as gifts. Still keep one in the car.
On my 'new' one, I took the clip off making it pretty sleek. It is a little bit of a smaller knife so I understand the addition of a lanyard as well.
Don't carry too many modern folders these days, guys, but this one might get me going in that direction again. Not too thick. I don't usually use pocket/belt clips though. On some they seem to get in the way... The Squid, not so much.
I have added a short lanyard to give my pinky something to wrap around when I'm using it. Seems fitting on this one.
And everyone loves it when Ol' Grumpy is a happy camper! :-D
Nice flip - Christmas gift card for a Squid I mean - well done you! I have not owned one of these - but I sure do enjoy looking at yours. After reading Kevins post here, I bet it does ride nice. Let's hope your clip stays tight.
Very Nice! I really like that blade design.
I have had two now. The first had Jade G10 scales and a blacked out blade. It unclipped from my pocket and I lost it. I really liked the shape and feel of it so I found one with steel scales, so I grabbed it. I had to laser mark that one though. Added Jörmungandr to the non liner lock side of the knife.
