About Me
Found a old knife years ago while metal detecting. Handle had long ago rotted off leaving only blade and shank. Am 82 years old and am interested in finding history on the knife which has legible imprint of Germania Cutlery Works. Would like to see what knife looked like with original handle.

Welcome, David!  I can't say I've ever heard of Germania Cutlery Works, but historical knife companies aren't my strongest suit (I know more about contemporary knives).  But I' guessing plenty of others here know of the company.  And it's a pretty cool way to find a knife!  Certainly San Antonio's dry climate should be good for metal detecting -- but again, I'm speaking outside my expertise, so apologies if I'm off on that.

As a fellow David myself (actually a Dave), I at least have experience with the name.  And as I do with all fellow Davids & Daves who find this site, a link to this short little video & song "Daves I Know" by Canadian comedy troupe Kids In The Hall:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVzDIE0mr6A

Take a look around, & enjoy!
