Hi Michael - welocme to iKC - we're glad you're here!

In addressing your status question, "Anyone know anything about these?", I know enough to get you hunting in the right direction for more info.

You are correct in your understanding - this is a promotional knife for Juicy Gem used to open fuit. The only reference to Juicy Gem that I can find is for Juicy Gem pomegranites. I know of two models of this knife - the SS102 4 1/2" knife and the SS105 5 3/4" knife. The SS in the model number stands for Stainless Steel.

As a category, these promotional knives are loosly referred to as "Melon" knives, but they were made for lots of food and produce companies and associations/co-ops for citrus, melons, fruit, potatoes, tomatoes, and dry sausage. These include the SNOBOY SS700 - a two-blade citrus knife with the Wonda-Edge serrated blade, and the SS105 for ARMOUR meats.

You might want to join the Schrade group here on iKC and see if there are any threads or early catelogs that may give you more info on your knife specifically:

https://iknifecollector.com/group/schradecollectors

Should you come across any old Schrade catelogs, I am sure you will find at least the model numbers, but not necessarily the company the particular promotional knife was made for.

I hope this helps you on your quest to learn more about your knife.
