Thomas .. we've a very knowledgeable gentleman (John McCain) who manages a "Question & Answer" discussion here on iKC. I've been sincerely impressed with his ability to identify cutlery stampings .. knives .. & historical facts relative to quite obscure pieces of cutlery.

Might I suggest .. posting your "Smith & Wesson" knife question there.

As far as value goes .. that's truly a combination of seller/buyer/market/personal preferences ... etc. For a realistic approximation .. I'd check E-bay.
