Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This topic has been blogged and discussed before, but nothing seemed to click with me. Maybe a fresh blog would help. I seem to have knives all over the place. With no real order to them.

I like to be able to see and handle my knives at all times. But with some there and some over here and some other places, it doesn't seem to work.

Rolls, boxes, and different places for knives keep them scattered. For instance, my Remington year knife collection, sits in boxes on top of my safe, I hardly ever take them out to look at them, except when I oil them. Many knives are just like that. The roll seems to work but how do you display 3 rolls?

Maybe some ideas would help me and many others as well. As I suspect, several of our IKC members are in the same situation as I am.

Maybe this blog can serve to help us all, and be a future reference.

So, any ideas, what is working for you?

John, I went on the Harbor Freight internet site and it listed several options, some were for coupons, I look thru them and found one for $20 with a promotional number on it and put it on my cart and it worked. It takes some scratching to find it, but worth it. Good Luck.

What about some typesetting drawers? Clean them up a bit, and you can put lots of knives into them, and they aren't that expensive....

Ken, where did you get the $20 coupon from, if I may ask?? Looking to buy the same chest from Harbor Freight, and would not mind saving 20 bucks !! LOL

Here is my brother's solution, but obviously not the least expensive-He had a lockable, lit knife cabinet built into his entertainment center. Holds a ton of knives, you can stare at them all day, watch a ball game on TV,and  fondle  your knives during commercials !! LOL.Truly makes a great conversation piece, and has converted more than a few into knife collectors.

I also organize by brand and then by pattern. So it's easy to find just what I'm looking for.

Jan - I am going to try and go to the Harbor Freight store Feb 1 and look at those chests. Could you tell me about how many knives it could hold? and could you show me a pic of an open drawer with knives in it? Thanks.

Ivars - You are right, I do not want to sell knives, I get attached to them - but I want to keep them available to use and handle easily.
