Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Create the time to visit PA Aug 7-9 , YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

What if you could spend a weekend in a town known for knife making, tour two US Knife factories and celebrate the likes of French Kate, Ben Hogan and the US oil Boom?  All the while spending the night in a caboose?

It brings back memories for me.  This is the first year in some time that we will not be there.  I encourage anyone close enough to make this trip...Do IT!

Titusville is a beautiful town, right down the road from Tidioute.  This year the one weekend can be action packed for you, as a knife collector and the entire family!

August 7th Brings factory tours at Both Great Eastern Cutlery and Queen Cutlery.  Vastly different types of companies and factories.

At Great Eastern Cutlery you have a building steeped in history of steel.  They are located in what was ay one time the metallurgy building of Titusville Iron Works.  When you walk in you can see this factory was set up for efficiency and for the enjoyment of visitors.  You can take an iKC tour here in an older post  Sat there is a BBQ at the park

At Queen Cutlery, the oldest continually operating Knife building in the US.  When you walk in the door at Queen you literally feel the history.  In the "store " up front you can see many examples of Queen, Schatt&Morgan and Queen City history.  The tour is amazing through this preserved factory.  Watching folks use the same techniques and in some cases the same equipment used by generations, is exciting for me.

Not only can you stay in a genuine Caboose at the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad but during the day you can travel back in time on the Rails.

Bring your address book. The OC&T RR operates the only working Railway Post Office in the United States.  You can send a postcard or enjoy a snack during your ride. Maybe the postmaster will let you postmark your own card.

This year the Oil Festival is the same weekend.  The small town of Titusville PA does it up well.  There is a full weekend of Concerts, Food, Craft Shows, Fireworks,a parade and free visiting to some of the Oil Barrons homes!.  This year's theme is Mardi Gras.   Check out the Calendar of events HERE

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF***A KNIFE SHOW***

Thank's Jan,  when I retire in a couple of years I am planning a trip to the US . In the past I have only been across the States on a plane going to New Zealand.

Jan,

Saving my money for the Case event in Norris, TN  the following weekend.  However, I might get down to Queen this weekend.  Leaving tomorrow for Bradford (5 hours from eastern PA).  Bradford to Titusville is about 1.5 hours - one way.  If any of you Case fans will be in Bradford this weekend, look for me.  If the sun is shining I'll be wearing a [mil.] boonie hat.  Expect to stop in St. Marys for a free beer at the Straub Brewery (free beer for all who visit the brewery, just walk in and ask for the "tap room" - fill a glass yourself.  Try not to stay all day, Tobias.) on the way to Bradford tomorrow.

Darn it all. We'll be in PA late THIS month. Wrong area too. (But we do have 2 nights reserved in a caboose)
