Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I recently had trouble with my PayPal account, on Ebay. It seems, some bad guy, got my password changed and started making purchases and cash with-drawls on my Ebay account.

I knew something was wrong when I tried to pay for an item that I had won the auction on and the system said "my password was incorrect. I tried several but I got the same answer. I decided I'd Email, Ebay and that's when I discovered that some bad person was buying stuff on my account. I also discovered that PayPal had sent me a message about "me changing my Password".

I contacted PayPal and told them of the problem. They explored my account and acknowledged the theft. We then set up a new account with new password and other info. They also informed me that I would not be responsible for the bills. The lady was very helpful and polite. Also very patient with me, because of my low computer skills. I can't say enough about how well I was treated.

Paypal is investigating the theft and when they catch the perpetrater, their going to jail. She said law enforcement has ways to trace e-legal usage of computer accounts.

I wanted to tell ya'll about this, so everyone can keep a close eye on their accounts, that they may have on the internet not just PayPal. Please keep an eye on ya'll accounts, there's bad people out there.

Thanks Jess, but I do all my banking in person, nothing on computer.

You might want to check with your bank too, just to make sure they haven't hacked into it too. Happened to me about 9 years ago.

Make sure that your E-mail, Paypal and Ebay NEVER have the same passwords. At least that way if they get into one at least they can't get into the others.

Same goes for Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter and services like it.

It's alwasy possible that someone can hack/guess their way into one of your accounts. But it's MOST important that they won't get access into the others.

I have had this happen to me and is not fun!  My incident involved my PayPal account and my credit card bank and it was apparent to me that the thief was from inside the credit card bank itself.  That account was closed pronto!  PayPal on the other hand was very helpful to me.  It all got straightened out but it took months and a great deal of frustration.  I only wish I could have just five minutes alone with that thief...............

Craig's List is also full of thieves waiting to scam you. I've had it tried on me 3 different times. Watchful is the word!!

I'm VERY careful about what I do and where I go on the internet. Especially when using my credit/debit cards. But, somehow someone got my card number a couple of months ago and started making purchases.....from England! We check our accounts everyday, so we caught it and the bank stopped all activity and issued a new card, and the charges were credited back to us.

People that do this stuff should be shot!
