GEC Equestrian’s Trapper Knife w/Exotic Mexican Bocote Wood Handle

So I log into iKnifeCollector.com the other night only to come across a conversation between Hog and Tuna about a GEC knife up for bid on ebay. They were wondering if the knife was really a GEC knife or not. I did a quick internet search and came up with info showing it was a real GEC knife and shared the info with the guys. But, they still declined to make a bid which was ending in a few minutes. So I placed the bid and won the knife.

With a little more research, I found out that the knife was made in 2009 and only 35 pieces were made. Pretty happy that I bid and now am awaiting the arrival of my purchase.

Sorry for the typos folks. I couldn't find how to Edit the previous post. The knife is a GEC 734209HP,and even though it carries the the GEC product name and the Acorn Inlay Shield, the blade and hoof pick are both 1095 Carbon Steel. I got that straight from Chris. And the Hoofpick is an 11 or 12 pull on a scale of 1 to 10. I got that from experience!

These knives were a Factory Test Run. Very limited Production. The production figures Leopold  quoting are for the Tidiout Cutlery 734209J,not the GEC 735209HP. Reference the GEC Tube and Acorn inlay Shield. These knives were actually part oof a Factory Test Run and were assembled in 2011,from parts.

#734209HP

Smooth Goldenrod Micarta 10 pcs. no serial number

The previous is an excerpt from the Great Eastern Production toals of 2011,available at thier website. Some of these knives are still available in Distributor's stock.

Came in the mail yesterday, great knife. I was highly impressed with the quality of the piece. It was my first GEC knife. You noticed I said was, as I sold it 4 hours later at the AKCA meeting that evening.

Easy come, easy go
