The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
From the time I was a young boy I loved looking and watching my dad buying and collecting knives. When he gave me my first knife I was in love . I starting going to places to buy knives. Some days I would go to the hardware store and just gaze thru the glass case thinking of witch one I wanted to get next. Then when I started working I would pull my knife out to cut something and people would ask me were I got that.and I would tell them. It always gave us something to talk about.
Then sometimes people would ask me if I would get them one like that. So I would bring a couple in to work and we would trade them. Collecting knives made me many friends .I would come in and my co workers would ask me what kind did you get now, and I would pull another new one out of my pocket. They would pass it around, look at it and sometimes ask to buy it.
It goes to show you that this hobby is not only fun but you make good friends doing it. If someone ask me what hobby to get into I would tell them knife collecting. Its not only fun but you meet a lot of great people along the way.
How many of you have had a great experience like this in this hobby?

LOTS of good people and great times in knife collecting!
iKC is especially unique
Along the way and especially since joining iKnife Collector I've seen knives I would never get the chance to see anywhere else.
I could not have said this better myself
My first knife was a Cub Scout knife back in the 50's. Then my father showed me a Case Toothpick he had but kept in his dresser drawer. From that time I always thought knives, pocket knives in particular, were cool. I always had a knife of some kind. It wasn't until around 1976 when I started buying a knife on a regular basis, wheather I needed it or not. Slowly but surely it became a disease (LOL!)......I've never been the same since! I WAS away from "collecting for a few years, BUT was NEVER away from knives, and now I'm back to "collecting"!

My father had 1 knife that he carried. (He was not a collector.)
I've always "accumeulated" knives, but it wasn't till I started carving that I began to "collect" knives.
I've met many friends on different knife forums, but iKC is especially unique.
There is no pressure to conform to a given norm, and everyone's opinions are encouraged. iKC is a great place to call "home" and it's members "family".
