FOR ME I KNOW WHAT I WANT IN A HANDLE MATERIAL SOMETHING WITH A GOOD GRIP. SO I GUESS FOR ME A FAVORITE WOULD BE G-10 HANDLES, SO THERE IS NO SLIP OR VERY LITTLE SLIP WHEN I AM CHOPPING WOOD OR WHEN I'M CAMPING AND HUNTING.
BUT ON THE OTHER HAND I LOVE THE LOOK OF BEAUTIFUL WOODS. SO I GUESS YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE TWO FAVORITE'S ONE FOR THE USER KNIFE AND ONE FOR THE COLLECTOR KNIFE.
WHAT DO YOU GUY'S THINK? IS THERE A FAVORITE HANDLE FOR YOU? OR DO MOST OF YOU THINK THE WAY I DO... ONE FOR THE USER AND ONE FOR THE COLLECTOR? ALSO I JUST GOT A KNIFE WITH LINEN MICARTA HANDLES. THEY ARE ALSO GOOD FOR GRIP..HMMM CAN YOU JUST PICK ONE?

I like the Natural choices better myself.
Stag is awesome, it's grippy when wet and perfect in a lot of places.
Bone is also an awesome material, it's surprisingly strong and holds it's own.
Buffalo, can be temperamental and is prone to shrinking if neglected.
Yellow Delrin
Stag
Bone
Leather
My favorite handle material is without a doubt Musk Ox Boss. It is absloutely gorgeous and provides a good grip.
I like the materials that I enjoy working with. Wood, Bone, Horn, ivory, Tagua Nut (I loves me some tagua nut) and others.
I can bear Micarta, but I'm not a big fan.....and I despise G-10. Don't like the way it feels, don't like the way I work with it.
Carbon Fibre, pretty, but also a pain to work with and very unhealthy.
Tough to say......I guess it'd have to be bone. It just looks so primitive!
I'm like JJ. I like natural handle materials. Stag, bone and wood to be exact, ivory also but out of my price range.
JJ,
LOL. Yeah I love the look of a pearl and an abalone but have come to realize that the looking class versions of those materials work best for me.
I like most any kind of "Natural" handle material, except pearl.
Pearl has a nasty tendency of breaking if dropped. (duh...)
I'm with RicK & Pat for my everyday users .. linen micarta has proven extremely durable ..and.. I find it very attractive when finished nicely. Stag is sweet .. but pricey. Queen's Aged Honey Amber Stag Bone is one I'm fond of for both it's durability and beauty.
'n no Stephen ... I can't just pick one :)
