I'm proud to be friends, Terry. You got me thinking all the way back to my first freezing rain icy campout with the Boy Scouts in 1958. My dad had just agreed to be Assistant Scoutmaster to Scoutmaster Bob Stephenson, who was a well known sports writer in the postwar era. Uncle Bob did not really want to go out that weekend, but my dad had pledged that he would take us Scouts camping once a month, regardless. It was only later in 1972 when I was Scoutmaster of my old troop — nobody else to keep the troop of eight boys from disappearing.
So our first scheduled campout was nicer weather, but late one evening before "lights out" I was playing with a new axe, and I heard one scout ask another if he wanted to chop some more, and the young scholar and woodsman looked up and gave me that moniker. It is rapidly being replaced by "old woodsman" as I have axes I've yet to enjoy. Just had to get that recollection into the record. If the kids had stayed up a little, an hour in these 42 years, they could have seen me playing with a new tuttle-tooth crosscut saw, and probably called me "sawyer". I'm real lucky nobody got up and saw me with a thermos of Louisiana coffee and donuts.Go figure.
Thanks Terry...Saw your thread on Counterfeiting. You need a copy of Gerald Witchers' "Counterfeiting Antique Cutlery"...Best Book ever written about knives.

Sure Terry. Buffet lunch for almost 2,500 hungry iKC members. Sounds good to me...
