Be safe, if you are still traveling. And can't wait to hear/see about your trip when you have time.

Are you serious on losing your YT channel? I have never heard of such. I'd be PO'd about that.
iKC is doing fine. Check into your groups when you have time to say hi.
Were you on a mission trip....medical missions, or evangelistic? Glad you made it back safe.

Hey man. Just dropping by to say "Hello." Hope all is well. BTW, I checked your link to your youtube channel only to get a closed account. Thought you might want to know.
Drop by next time you're in town.

Congrats on winning the video contest...I don't know why I was included I wasn't planning on entering. Made the video (1) day after the deadline.

Good job...J.T.

You have to remove the seed while you're carving the whole thing. Say, when working a basket you'll carve the handle, when you've broken through the "Pit" you can remove the seed. Then shape the handle. I use scrapers, that are similar to dental picks, for this.
If you've halved a pit, (or it's split when you get it), You can make pins and things out of each half.

Usually, you'll remove it. If you're making a basket or a monkey the seed needs to come out. DO NOT TRY TO EAT IT. Supposidly it contains a form of cyanide.

Just watch out for your fingers. The first time I tried to carve one, when I was a teenager, I cut my left index finger to the bone.

Anthony,
Roughing them out takes about 3-4 hours, with another couple, to finish it in total. Baskets, take about an hour.

I usually put a thin coat of clear finish to protect them, though iof you dont, they will develop a patina, from handeling much quicker.
Here's another.
