Well, thank you kindly for asking, Stanley. I actually just now returned home after having dinner at a local restaurant with a good friend and his son. The son just starting working at Santa Anita Racetrack, here in Southern California, yesterday as an armed security guard. I was anxious to hear how he liked it since I had worked there for nearly 30 years right up until my retirement in '97. Not in security but in the Operations Dept. I worked with the people and not the horses.
Aside from that it's been a pretty lazy Sunday afternoon. Not much more to tell about me, really. Two grown daughters (38 & 44) and one teenaged granddaughter, 16. My youngest daughter will be giving me a grandson here in about a week or two. I'll keep y'all posted on that.
We lost my wife and the girls mom to lung cancer several years back. 22 to be exact. I re-married and was with that lady for 11 years. But I've been single now for a while and have really settled into liking it that way -- single, that is. No more flaming hoops to jump through. Just enjoying them "Golden Years," ya know.
I live in a great little town nestled at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains -- Sierra Madre. A real sense of community here. Everyone knows everyone. And, heck! We even talk to one another! Rare in this day and age. All in all life is good!
I was working for a little Flower Shop here in town for a number of years after retiring from the horse racing industry. But a couple years back I had some surgery on my back and decided to just take it easy and focus on what I enjoy. Which is, of course, collecting knives and looking at pretty girls. That recipe seems to be working just fine for now.
Okay! There, I went and got long winded again. But...since you asked. ahem!
Cheers, my friend. I hope you have a great evening!
Thanks, Stanley, for adding me as a friend. Yes, I have a few GEC knives. You may wish to add your name--if you haven't already--to the list for this year's Community knife? It's going to be a Geppetto Whittler done in jigged Pioneer bone and made especially for iKnife Collector by GEC. If you're interested, contact either Steve or Jan and let them know. If you haven't seen it yet, here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/2012-iKC-Community-Knife
