I don't care what anybody says, that's a great looking knife!  Thanks for the birthday wishes.  Had a relaxing day and got about half-way through (so far) James Morgan Ayres' bookThe Tactical Knife, 2010 Krause Publications.  Essentially, he says a BIG knife (fixed blade) is the thing to have,  but most days and most places it's too big to carry in public, and ultimately it is the knife you have on you at the time your life is in danger that makes the difference - so pick a hearty knife you like that can take abuse and wear it all the time.  Pack the BIG knife if you are planning a visit to the bush, but make sure you have a stout, sturdy knife on you in case you can't get to your pack in time.  As the guy at Equip-To-Endure says:  "If you aren't always prepared, your never prepared."

Miss Jan, my operation is wednesday the 14th of March. The doctors have decided to do one big operation instead of two. My doctor has called in another doctor to asit in the surgery, its the only one they will do that day. It's gonna be hard on me, I just hope it turns out well. The prayers from my friends here will be greatly appreciated. I want to say now before my surgery to all my newly found friends that it has been such treat to get to know ya'll and call ya'll my friends. Rob

I really liked them, especially the pink one. Also, I found a similar on Tidioute's home page with a green handle (my favourite colour) which was really cool. Unfortunately they are a bit too expensive for me right now. They are in the price range I had in mind, but you can't buy them anywhere in Sweden and if I would have them shipped from the US, I'll have to pay about 30% more in tax and customs. :-(

But maybe I can get my dad to buy me one next time he is over there. He's in America quite often in his work.

Hey Jan,

I got that  bomb shield Smooth Yellow Bone #72 from Greg at TSA. He asked for wish lists and that knife was on mine. It showed up and I was like what is this? I emailed him asking why it had no Rose shield or YR blade etch. He said that the knife came from Ken Daniels and it may have been a pre-production mock up or prototype. I had been thinking about sending it back but with that news I decided to keep it. He had the other standard issue Yellow Rose and offered to swap them out but I asked if I could have that one too for my #72 collection. So I really lucked out!

I think I want something rather sleek and classy. When I'm home or outdoors I'll probably use my bigger fixblades anyway. But I need someting for those occasions when it isn't socially acceptable (or legal) to have a big sheath knife dangling from my belt. Sweden has quite generous knife laws, you can carry a knife if you're planning on using it (for something non-violent and legal, of course). But the knife has to be suited for the use, and I can't say that I acually need a large fixblade going to the resturant with some friends. Therefore I want a smaller knife, more of a typical EDC, but still big (and strong) enough to use. Since I don't have any knife of this type I want one that I can use both as an EDC when I'm going shopping and picking up my kids from nursery/school and for more dressed up occasions. So a simple but stylish look would be nice.

I was thinking about buing a EKA folding knife, but then I thought it would be fun with something non-Scandinavian (I only have Scandi blades and a couple of multi-tools). I've been looking at Kershaw, they have some really classy folding knifes.

Miss Jan, I have some very serious orthropedic medical problems from some bad accidents and after numberous operations I am still in bad shape. They are planning on the first of two operations week after next. Then, after I heal up some perform the secound, it's all gonna be bad. I have had 10 major surgeries all ready, it's all so painfull. I know ya'll have some pull with the man up stairs, so a little prayer will help me, please. I love my new friends I have made here. Thanks, ya'll, your good buddy, Rob!

I could really need a new knife for the handbag, though. I only have fixblades (exept my multi-tool of course), which I think take up thoo much space (even though I have a huge handbag). So right now I'm looking for a good folding knife.

Thanks Jan for the gracious comment on the Button Lock folder. This is the second one of this specific knife that I have done for him, exccept the first was not a "spring assist". Since my son-in-law lives in Georgia & is a Georgia Tech fan, I tried to get as close to the school colors asI could with the handles. Thanks again.
