thats cool gunny will be at the blade show maybe you can ask him a question or two for me we could use the info for the site and maybe a autogragh .thanks jan..
Thank you for your warm welcome. I am very new to collecting knives. I chose to collect only barlows. Over the past few months I read the history of each manufacturer. I began collecting a few Case knives, then some Queen manufactured Shatt & Morgans, a Robeson, and Cripple Creeks. Then I bought some GEC barlows. Through my collecting and lurking at other forums I have learned much but still have a lot to learn. .. I have enjoyed reading of your collecting along with your husband as a team of sorts. I value your input on my efforts and goals. For now I need to cull some early purchases of barlows from manufacturers no longer in business. I feel that GEC is the way to go. Bruce
Sorry I never learned to post photos. My lazyness. I finished the duck. One can find a lot wrong with it but I'm happy. I gave it to my wife. She thought it was good. So JJ can't cook this one.
YOU HAVE A GREAT COLLECTION OF KNIVES HERE JAN. I'VE BEEN MAKING COMMENTS TO SOME OF THE WELCOME COMMENTS I HAVE RECEIVED. I HAVE SEEN SOME HOMEMADE KNIVES AND OTHER KNIFE COLLECTIONS. I DIDN'T RELIZE HOW MUCH TALENT THERE IS OUT THERE IN MAKING KNIVES AND CARVINGS. I LOVE IT ALL. THANK YOU SO MUCH IN INVITING ME TO THIS WONDERFUL GROUP OF PEOPLE, THAT LOVES THIER KNIVES AND GUNS LIKE I DO. I'M SO GLAD TO BE A PART OF THIS GROUP AND WEB SITE.
Thanks, thats a little short. How long do you think would be right for you? Any size is okay with me. That knife is a Treeman. I have two made the same way, one for squirrels and one for big game. If 48 inches is good for you no problem.
Miss Jan, I have finally found a nice little tree to make your staff. When it's finally finished you will like it. I have a little surprise I'm adding to it. I need to know the measurement 8 inches up from the inside of your elbow, then from that point down to the floor. If you don't understand let me know. I really enjoy doing things like this.
Jan- sorry for the delay in my response to your desire to help with donations- I'm sorry, I don't know a group, per se. My suggestion if you want is the Red Cross. Tuscaloosa one might be a good one. Thanks for the kind thoughts.
