We have had quite a number of rescue dogs and cats in our 64 year marriage, Lars.  You speak the truth about them.  I do treasure my old knives, some of which I have had for a very long time.  That first hunting knife in the photo came from a department store in Harrisburg, PA, back in the 1950s.  I am sure that my father in law's knife predates that.

Oh I love freebie knives...they're like recuced dogs. Rarely talked or bragged about, they are the most loyal and long lasting friends one can have. Whether found, gifted, or borrowed-and-never-returned, freebies are fantastic!

I don't know about you, but I seem to have the best adventure memories with my freebies. Together we made shelters, started great camp fires, dug out splinters, cleaned our catch of the day, and harvested clams.

That's a great freebie you have there...it shows a life of grand adventures.
