Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

If you're going to play with sharp things, then you need to learn to do it right. That's me - The Lars - with my back to the viewer in 1980. The Eugene Register Guard newspaper did a cover story of the city's Fencing club during a state tournament, whereby in this photo, I am the one losing the point, or Touch, and yes - the match. But I must say, that is a picture perfect lunge I made, only to be parried with a textbook riposte resulting in my loss.

I competed in Foil and Epee. While I learned Sabre, I never competed with it.

LoL!! Too funny Kevin...and how soon they forget. Neither is your 1915 Patton Sabre. Duh!

It's called a Light Sabre because a Glow Stick just doesn't sound as cool, and not once do you see Darth or any Jedi on roller skates...the official glow activity.

I can't help but thinking... Why do they call them 'light sabers'? The blades are not curved at all!

...And great story behind it!  I know just enough about swords & fencing to appreciate your comment on form (thanks to YouTuber Matt Easton / scholagladiatoria).  What a cool thing to have in your personal history!
