Pearl Handles

Been thinking some of Pearl Handles lately and alot of questions come to mind

How are they made? Are there different types? What about the Smokey Pearl?

How about some pics of Pearl handled knives. I'll post some next week.

All of those Case knives are gorgeous! I especially like the abalone! I don't recall ever seeing that shell shield before -- too cool! Those pearls of yours ain't nuthin' to sneeze at, either! Nice. Very nice!

Thanks Ron, The Paua trapper with the shell shield is my favorite of the bunch .Although they all look better in person than they photograph, that green abalone is breathtakingly beautiful !! The refraction is amazing. The other abalone ain't half bad either-LOL-The MOP is nice and the gold lip looks way better than the photograph in real life .BTW, just for informative purposes, the abalone on the cigar band knife came from Baja, Mexico.

Many years ago I had a photo of a customized trapper which I unforunately lost in a hard drive crash a few years back. The makers name I have forgotten, but I am still searching to see if I can find a pic somewhere on the web. If I remember correctly, it was a standard Case trapper. with the scales redone in a sunrise pattern with all of the shades of pearl (pink,gold,white,& smoky),separated by nickel silver spacers.It was the singularly most impressive set of scales I have ever seen on a trapper !! If anyone has the pic or any info on the maker/customizer I would be very grateful.
