Case XX shieldsBelow is a list of shields that have been used on Case knives. There are several that are not included -- Shields were pinned on bone and stag handled Case knives until the late 1970's at which point the company started gluing them on. |

Plain Oval shield. Used on knives manufactured from 1905 - 1915. | |
Plain oval shield with pointed ends. Used by Case between 1905 and 1915. | |
Arrow Head shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925. | |
Diamond shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925. | |
Bomb Shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925. | |
Bowtie Shield with raised letters. Used on knives manufactured from 1915 - 1925. | |
Oval shield with closed C and block letters. Used on tested era knives (1920 - 1940). Case switched to an open C writing design in the late tested years. | |
Oval shield with open C and tall S. Used on late tested era and early XX era knives. | |
Oval shield with open C and block S. Used on late xx era knives through to the mid 1980s. | |
Oval shield with raised letters and rim. Used on knives manufactured in the late 1980s. | |
This arrow shield was used on some late 1990 knives. I have seen it on some three and five bladed peanuts (big nuts) and trappers (beasts). | |
To the best of my knowledge, this shield was most prominently used on Case knives with rosewood handle scales in 2000 and 2001. | |
A relatively new shield used on knives manufactured sometime after 2000.

I just clicked on the link and registration was quick and painless. I just copied this to my favorites tab. There is a ton of useful info there if you are researching a Case knife, whether by shield, model #. handle material , etc. They also catalogue SFOs, too. Thanks, for the link, it will be a handy reference source to refer to when needed.
