Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I recently purchased a new BOKER USA Epicenter (01BO170).  An absolutely beautifully designed one hand opener/folder.  All titanium framelock and VG10 blade.  Unfortunately it was impossible to open with one hand using the thumb-stud.  I called BOKER USA and was instructed to send it to them for resolution.   That was over 2-1/2 weeks ago and the knife arrived back in my mailbox today (2/15/14).  Guess what?  It's the same knife and as far as I can tell BOKER just re-boxed it an mailed it back with no service what-so-ever!  It is still impossible to open with one hand using the thumb-stud(s).  And no, loosening the pivot bolt is no help.  I had a similar problem with a Spyderco Schempp Tuff folder last summer and Spyderco took care of the problem and shipped me back a working knife.  I, for one, will never purchase another BOKER USA product, especially those made in China.  In a word, BOKER USA's customer service sucks!

BOKER USA is a distribution center only. They haven't made a knife there in years. When I've talked to them over the phone trying to find info on a specific knife or detail, I always seam to get curt answers like I was interrupting their lunch or something. I get much better service and response dealing with the company in Germany. For those that don't know, they are two separate companies as BOKER USA was started by a cousin or some distant relative.

Most of their inexpensive Boker knives that come from their factory in China are fairly good though occasionally you'll get a lemon or two. That's why I've made the decision to carry only the Boker's made in Germany other than their converted autos on my website.

Great point Leopold. I wish they would do more to give better answers in USA but the infrastructure is all German and they should be reached there.
