The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Okay I've waited long enough. I was hoping to get more subscribers but then again the knife is really only worth about $15-20. So I'm launching the contest now it is open to all current members of the group and anyone wh joins the group before Friday, May 8, 2014. I will announce the Winner of the knife on Saturday May 9, 2014 (which happens to be my wedding anniversary!)
WIN THIS KNIFE
Answer the following three questions to be entered into the contest:
1. What is your favorite folding knife to use in the Great Outdoors?
2. What is your favorite fixed blade knife to use in the Great Outdoors?
3. What will you do with the prize knife if you win it?
Post your answers to this thread for a chance to win the knife pictured above. (an Imperial Diamond Edge pattern 555 Camp knife. (Made in Ireland)
Basic rules
There are no wrong answers to the questions, especially question #3.
Feel free to post pictures with your answers. We all love pictures of knives.
Answers need to appear in this discussion. I'm not going to check other places.
Only one entry per person will be entered into the drawing. Multiple posts by the same person will be ignored.
I'm not allowed to enter the contest.
The contest is open to any member of the group and to anyone who joins and replies in this discussion by Midnight Central Standard Time, Friday, May 8, 2014.
Winner will be drawn at random by me and announced in this discussion on Saturday May 9, 2014.
The Winner will then win the knife pictured plus and additional knife that will be announced at that time.
Yes, you read this correctly! The winner will get the knife shown plus another knife in my collection that will remain undisclosed until the winner is announced! Why? Because I haven't made up my mind what the other knife is going to be yet! Either way, you answer three questions about knives and you might get a knife valued around $15-$20.
How hard is that? Join a discussion group, talk knives and get one for doing what you like to do! That's a no brainier in my book.
Here are my answers.
1. What is your favorite folding knife to use in the Great Outdoors?
Victorinox Hunter:
2. What is your favorite fixed blade knife to use in the Great Outdoors?
Camillus, Sword Brand 1013
3. What will you do with the prize knife if you win it?
I'm not eligible but you are! Enter the contest for crying out loud!

I want to post a picture of them but until then. The knives I'm carrying, right now are. A Rough Rider Barlow folder and a Swamp Fox Fixed blade. If I were to win this knife, I would give it to my Grand Daughter for her Outdoor outings. She lost her Scout style knife.
favorite folder, remington bullet trapper. favorite fixed, tops bob. give it to my son,hes into campers.
My answers may seem odd compared to others
1- favorite folder-Spyderco Spydercard- Only knife out of a couple hundred I have a duplicate of-Undetectible in anything from dress slacks, cutoffs, or jeans due to it's slim design- Tough enough to cut rope, metal bands, etc- One handed quick opening and scary enough looking to deter a potential attacker !!
2-Favorite fixed blade-My vintage Western boot knife-Same reasons overall- Rides high in my boot, easily accessible, cuts through most anything, and saved my butt when I was in the process of being robbed- He was unsuccessful and beat a hasty retreat !-Used it at camp and it peformed well for anything I needed it for-
3-If I won this knife A) I would drool over it for awhile B) Snap a photo or two for posterity C) Use it as intended- Would make a very nice all purpose EDC-
