The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I've read many discussions about your favorite USA made knives. I thought I'd take a shot at Favorite made in China knives.
Here is my top 10.
1) Rough Rider. For price and selection you just can't beat them. The 440 Razor sharp is pretty good for an EDC
2) Raging Bull. About the only place you can get them is from Garry Yokum, the guy who owns the TM. He has an eBAy store. You can find them by searching ZIX on ebay. Lots of pretty swirly plastic and built in the same factory as Rough Riders. Same 440 Stainless
3) Colt. Pretty good and a little better finish that a Rough Rider but it is the same steel for a higher price.
4) Boker Magnum. These are really some of the best I've come across. Limited variety however. Most often 440 or Titanium coated 440
5) Cattleman's Cutlery. I've really been surprised by the quality even if the steel is 3CR13
6) Marbles. Again similar in quality to Rough Riders seeing it is a an SMKW brand but the price is slightly higher. But they offer some unique patterns not made by others.
7) Ocoee River. Yep. It is Jim Frost TM but it is better than the FROST branded knives. Also uses 440 and they have some really nice shields Also 440 Steel. A little higher priced than Rough Riders
8) Steel Warrior. Other than those stupid Rockwell tested stickers, these knives are pretty decent. But a little over priced compared to Rough Riders.
9) U.S. Classic. The brand is now defunct and they got a bad rap because of their Salt Creek, Kentucky tang stamp but these are surprisingly good knives similar to the quality of a Rough Rider. Also uses 440 SS.
10) Schrade (Taylor Brands) I wish they were more upfront with the type of steel. 400 Series is a little sketchy if you ask me.
Brands I'd be hard pressed to recommend based on personal experience:
Sarge
Pride USA
SuperKnife
Frost (the actual ones marked Frost not any knife in Jim Frost family of brands)
Double Warrior (not the Frost Steel Warriors just the Frost "Double Warriors")
Any one else have a a few favorite made in China Brands or Made in Chinas you avoid like the plague. (China made knife haters need not reply unless they actually have a China made knife they would recommend to use or collect!)

I just picked up a couple of Buck fixed blades for this fall. They are made in China and are supposed to have 440C blades. I hope they are okay. I bought them because of the type of blade steel they are suppose to have. Is anyone familiar with these China made Bucks?
I have a China made Buck Vanguard, basic in nature but very sturdy make.
Love my RR knives and have quite a few now, will sort my knives out and post pics of them when I get a chance
Pictures always help. These are the Raging Bulls I have. I'm still thinking about a few more.
They use the same frames and blades and Rough Riders. They just have a swirly acrylic handle and different shields. These were in his Guardian Angel Series from about 4 years ago. He usually makes bathes of 1,250 of each knife and then moves onto something else.

These are coming directly from China factory and cost $10. They look like the Vangard, I think. The limit was two per customer, so I ordered two. I'm done.

I think any of the Navy , Sanrenmu, Bee/Enlan, Ganzo or Inron made knives are all excellent for the money. The Tenacious , Ambitious and Resilience from Spyderco, are great knives.
@DOUG -AGREE -ON THE SPDYIE KNIVES!
Isn't the Byrd line all from China? I keep meaing to check that line out.
Spyderco designs and produces knives under the Byrd brand. These knives use high quality materials and are manufactured in China, allowing much lower prices while retaining most of Spyderco's quality
To date, Byrd knives have featured 8Cr13MoV as their blade steel except for the byrd Catbyrd titanium which uses 9Cr18Mo steel.[40] Early Byrd knives were marked 440C, but tests found that the steel was something entirely different from American 440C. This steel was closer to AUS-8 than American 440C, and also went by the name 8Cr13MoV

I do own a few Colts, and I am very happy with the knives and condition. It is the same steel as a Rough Rider and honestly not sure if the quality is any better, the same or worse. But I like them. Currently carrying a Colt Titanium stockman as EDC and it is a sweet little knife. It sharpens easily and I think looks pretty good. If it falls out of my pocket I won't cry, well only a second or two.
I can find them on eBay but fewer and fewer found at Smoky Mountain Knife Works.
I like the four blade pattern, especially the punch. I think the titanium coated ones were a little more expensive to make than SMKW expected. Meaning they couldn't get as much as they wanted to get so they sold them at a lower profit. This led to them being discontinued. Great knives if you can find them.
