Greetings fellow cutlery history enthusiasts. As you can probably tell by my profile, information about the Platts family knife makers and the cutleries of Andover,NY have been my passion for over 20 years. Acquiring knives related to my research has just been the icing on the cake. As you can probably imagine, by now I feel as though I've lived with Charles H. Platts and his sons through their trials and triumphs. For this reason it would be very difficult for me to place a monetary value on the majority of the knives I own. Where most knife collectors and dealers see dollar signs,I view each one as a tangible connection to the Platts family and the employees that they trained and supervised. Well, now you know where I'm coming from. I hope my sentiments strike a chord with some of you.
Kindest Regards to All,
Dave
