John, here is the tang stamp on my L.F.&C. Universal Bowie knife. What era did they use this stamp?

Michael, the Universal part of the stamp dates your knife to circa 1909- Nice find !!

Excellent John, thanks. So your saying $20 will still buy something these days. I just love those glass cases so full you cant see what on the bottom. 

Michael. Levine's 4th Edition valued your knife at $125 back in 1997-- Even if you have a replaced crossguard put on your knife, still worth what you paid several times over-- Dang, I gotta go knife hunting with you someday!! LOL
