Tobias I have always loved the fly fishing knives.  I always wanted one but we stopped fly fishing years ago.  Now that we are in the mountains maybe we can take that back up in our spare time LOL.  If we can I am getting one!!!

After weeks, perhaps months of looking for a decent Colonial Fish-Knife at a reasonable  price on eBay, I stumbled across the beauty below at the Swap-O-Rama in Alsip, Illinois on Saturday Morning.   I found it just as I was preparing to leave!   Not your typical Colonial Fish Knife but then that just adds to its awesomeness!

At almost 5 1/4 inches closed this is a big coke bottle! The green and black swirl  tortoise shell celluloid is nicely pinned and has little or no shrinkage.  These date from the 1920s-30s.

Blades are nice and tight with no wobbles and excellent snap opening and closing.  Really nice patina with no rust.   Someone really took care of it.

A pictures of the reverse side with the big 4 1/4 inch clip blade all the way open.  The knife is 9 1/2 inches open.

The scaler/degorger/cap-lifter combo blade.   

I have a new favorite Fish-Knife!   The seller was asking $18.  I offered $15  and we settled on $16. Someone on eBay is trying to get $97 for a similar  Colonial.  Other than one, this is the only one I've seen.

She's a beauty Tobias! I have a few of this style, these are amongst the best. Top one is Colonial, the other 2 are Imperial.

Very cool collection, Rob.  I will be keeping my out for more of them - that's for sure!.  A couple more fish knives and I think it they will over-take my camp knife collection!  (They already do if I include my five inch toothpicks  with in the fish knife pattern or if I include my fixed blade fish knives!)

My latest Fish knife that will probably never gut or scale a fish.  This one is by Queen  (Queen City)  An SFO for SMKW in Brown Jigged Bone with 420HC stainless blades. Overall closed length is 5 inches.  The scaling blade is sharp enough to use for light sawing, such as cuttign fish bones and such!

Hi Jan. It is a newer version. I believe the reverse tang is stamped 2013. SMKW likes to use older tang stamps on some of their SFOs but normally have a date stamp to keep the re-sellers honest.

I bought this one via Ebay's MVP- knives (better known as Kevin Pipes, owner of SMKW). It was sold as NIB, new in the box.
