Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

If you are a paracord enthusiast, you have to check out Stormdrane.
He has applied more paracord in more ways to more things than just about anyone could ever imagine. His site is a wealth of information. I highly suggest looking thru not only the current info but all the archived info as well.

His site is incredibly informative. It has video tutorials, list sources for more instruction, lists sources for materials and has links to many related and non-related sites.

You can ask...

I wouldn't use it to make this, Jan. The tape would damage the lens. I do keep one in my EDC tin though.
Old gift cards work great because they're a good bit sturdier.

I remembered Steve's problem when I had a similar issue with my Wally World watchband.  Design made replacing the band impossible.  Went with a zip-tie solution.

Ok so here is another question... My wife bought me a cheap watch from Wally World and of course withing two days that plastic band "keeper" or whatever you call the thing you slide extra band into so it does not flop around. Well as I was tossing around nearly 1,000 lbs of grain I ripped it right off...just my luck. So I am thinking what about a paracord watchband? Indestructible right?

Do beware, Steve .. in a situation like what you describe .. I'd rather have the watch ripped off than my arm ripped off. Not saying what happened is desirable .. just that it's more desirable than having it not fail & getting a body part injured. There are times it's best to have something easily replaceable fail & save a body part from being injured.
.
Ever thought of a pocket watch instead of a wrist watch .. just sayin' ???

Hmmm, pocket watch might be the perfect idea for Hog
