Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

These two listings recently appeared on Ebay .

i didn’t believe Herman had done the work on these knives and Emailed him. He replied that he had been following the LB3 listing and had Emailed the seller, telling him that it was not his work, and had asked the seller to retract the listing.  The seller did not retract the listing. The  LB1 had already sold by the time Herman discovered it. He Emailed the seller and asked that the buyer be informed that the  knife was not his work and that a copy of this be sent to him. The seller did not do this either.

I have bought knives from this seller and have been treated fairly but it is obvious that not everyone can say that. Hopefully the buyers will see this , and demand their money back.

Herman said that the first knife he filed looked better than either of these

It is too bad there are so many crooks and scam artists out there.

You should forward the correspondence to eBay.

Note (by viewing eBay's closed listing) that the LB3 and the LB1 in question both have the same serial number: 54. I'd love to know the history behind these knives. Did Mr. Williams give any indication who may have done the work?

Lesson here ... caveat emptor.

The seller added this to the listing before it was finished...I don't know if most of you do the same, but once I start bidding, I rarely go back to re-read the description...Herman requested the buyer be sent an email...

Q:  Second email concerning this listing. My name is Herman Williams. The LB-5 you have listed as a ,"Herman Williams", knife is not. If it has my name on it, it is a forgery. Please remove or correct the listing. Thank you. Oct-11-15
A:

I am unable to edit a listing while it has bids, but by answering your email, a copy will be attached to the listing stating it is not one of your knives

As for reporting this to Ebay, that would be Herman's prerogative  as he has the original Emails.

Anyone wanting to see Herman's work, check out Ebay item #272016258927 or click on this link   http://www.ebay.com/itm/272016258927?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&a...

Let the buyer beware is a good one for these knives

Doug,

Thank you for letting us know, for contacting Mr Williams and trying so hard to protect a buyer you don'y even know!!

I want to thank everyone for the replies. Herman rarely gets on a knife forum, and was surprised at how many supporters he has. I have no idea how many people read the post here on IKC. On AAPK the same post has been viewed almost 300 times. I hope this gets the message out to sellers, who are less than honorable, that we watch out for each other.
