Would  like to  try to age this knife or find  out if it had  any particular purpose  other than being a 'pocket  knife".  

the markings on  the  blade are:  MKlein & Sons , Chicago USA

This knife is from Klein and it is an electricians knife.  The company still exists, the history is here
