iKC Member Regan Wilson asks- "Are any of you familiar with J L Barbee out of Ft Stockton, TX? He made knives in the 70's and 80's,I collect his knives. I am looking for one of his catologs from the early 80's, if you know of someone who may be able to help, please let me know."

Man, you were fast on this. Good job, Frank! I know he appreciates your help.
yes i absolutely do appreciate it. i look on ebay daily and other sites aswell. i am friends with mr jim and make several of his designs, he made a really good working knife. the style listed with nordic i had never seen before this is why i'm after one of his catologs. i had one many years ago but it burned in a house fire in 1985. so thanks to the both of you for your help and look forward to being a part of this site.

thanks,
regan
Reagan,

This is a great forum. Brad Hyde called an obscure knife from 1952 in 20 minutes.

These knife folks here follow Scott's friendly leadership.

In two weeks there's been a 10 percent increase in members.

That's a testimate to jj, bruce, captain jeff, brad and others.

It's a great place to visit, I just wish I could live here!!!! What neighbors.
frank,
i can see in just a few days that i,ve been involved with this site that success works in numbers. i search everyday for barbee knives and you found one that i didn't. i'm gonna lean on you guys all the time for things i'm looking for. i also try to find (with 0 success) old westinghouse yellow micarta and decent looking sambar stag scales.

god bless,
regan

ray,
i dont know the value and i have no survival knives, but i would like to add your knife to my small collection
of barbee's. i have purchased 2 of them in the past for 150.00 and were in excellant shape. and in the early 80's
i hunted on mr barbee's ranch and bought one from him personally for 125.00. if you come up with a number please let me know, if i can afford it, i will buy it.

thanks so much,
regan
