The H73110 has a more streamlined 'bird and trout' type blade while the H73210 would be more suitable to medium to large game.

I heard a friend say "I can't say enough good about these knives. If you haven't seen one for yourself as yet, you really should check them out. They are something very special from GEC"

:Has anyone else gotten theirs yet?  What do you think?

I didn't get one yet but, I've been thinking.
There are so many GECs on my list that these are on the back burner for now, beautiful knives.
Check out the contest I listed a couple days ago. Send a pic and have a chance at a 50.00 gift certificate to buy another knife

As some of you already know I am a great fan of these new Hunters from GEC.

I carry and use my 73110 Bird & Trout model every day, have used it as my only knife on camp outings, and have used it hard.  This knife just keeps coming back for more and I have become very fond of it.

The newest series of Hunters, based on the #23 size handle die, have been released in Mexican Bocote, and the Walnut Jigged Bone and Stag handle editions are only awaiting their sheaths before they too will be shipped out.

I can only imagine how nice a combination of a #73 and a #23 Hunter will be together in the field and in camp.

I have a feeling that GEC is "testing the market" with these new Hunters and they may indeed be in very limited supply, making them a valuable collectible knife as well as a very useful field knife.  I personally feel that these new Hunters exhibit some of the finest quality control I have seen come from GEC, and I examine my knives very closely.

You might consider adding one or more to your collection before the first run of them are gone.

Thanks for the review Dave, I know quality has to be at the top of their game to have received such high praise from you.

Hi Jan,

You know, I'll be the first to admit that quality is extremely important to me and I may even tend to go a bit far in the appraisal of my knives.  My purchases don't come easy for me and when I get less than expected I tend to remember it.  On the other hand I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

I've been with GEC since the begining and have seen steady and needed progress in many issues of quality.  I now feel that they truly do care, and I have not always felt that way.  There's still room for improvement in some areas, but I'm pretty impressed with what I'm seeing lately.

And for me, that's saying a lot.
