Hah! You know Craig ... when I was living in Texas decades ago, I knew a guy whose mother lived up in Plano (pronounced "plain - o" for all of you non-Texans). I called her Betty. He just called her "plain ole" mom! So, there's nuttin' wrong with plain!

I like the plain one myself.......but I'm a plain guy. LOL!
LOL!!
Glad to give you a chuckle Craig .... and it is a true story!!
Big news is that I FINALLY struck a deal on the elusive giraffe bone, thinking that it just might be "the one". Now, the wait ... to see if it actually is!
Nice Dennis! I haven't bought a Giraffe Bone yet. I guess I'm waiting on inspiration too. LOL!
Well, I like it ... but don't love it! My eyesight must have failed me when I looked at the pics. Both slabs of giraffe bone are fantastic ... but different! That has been the problem with most of the giraffe bone ponies I've looked at. So, like I said, I like it ... but may keep looking. But heck ... got it for a pretty good price, so can't really complain.
Pile side:
Got one more coming in .... but it's a "plain" one, so there should be no complaints!!!
Nice Dennis!
Actually that doesn't look bad. I've seen some that are mismatched worse than that. The only way I got a Giraffe 63032 Stockman that matched was to ask one of my regular dealers to hand pick one for me. And they did good.
Thanks Craig ... and yes, the covers mismatch isn't all that bad (not to mention that individually, I like each side). My biggest disappointment was that I was expecting a closer match based on the pics I saw. It's true what they say ... lighting plays a huge role in photography! If I keep this one (assuming I can find a closer matching pony), I may try a little potassium permanganate (a very weak solution) on the pile side to darken it up a little (after a very tiny spot test!!).
Beautiful Craig! Totally agree with you on the dark green. I think you've put another on my search list!!! Hopefully I can add another very soon. It arrived early last week ... but had to send it back due to a defect. Fortunately, dealer had more.
Thanks Dennis!
I'm on the hunt for a Burnt Oatmeal Damascus. I haven't found one yet that lights a fire in my belly. Almost bought one on ebay but it had a "ding" on the main blade that was shiny and stood out. Wish guys were more careful with their knives!
Nice Dennis! Black is classy looking. I love mine, and you can't beat the price for one of these!
