Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I have recently had an interest in learning about the equipment needed for surviving in a Bug Out situation. In learning the proper tools and equipment to have, I have also started backpacking and tent camping some. More recently, I started having an interest in bushcraft. What I have found is, there are a lot of similar tools required in each of these, especially having a decent knife. I would love to hear what any of you think about the mix of these different activities. I am still learning and having fun as I do so. I got several items for Christmas that will be used in a combination of these activities. Here are the items I got.

Jeremy,

There may have been more sitting around than usual but look, everyone has a knife, creating something!  I wish I was close enough to attend one of these.  Please keep letting us know when you have been camping the pics are great.  Is that the Battle Horse Trail hawk?

I have been meaning to ask you if you have had some hands on time with the lonestar?  I like the look of that one

Jan,

I will keep posting pics of all of the camp outs I attend and yes, there were a lot of knives being used, by young and old alike. That is the Trail Hawk and I will be getting one of my own in the near future. Unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure of getting my hands on the Lone Star yet.

Thanks Jeremy!  Maybe I can get hands on with a lone star at Blade

I'd love to be able to do this again.

Thank you John. It really was a great time. As I get older, I am more content just sitting around talking and carving a spoon or two. That dog is one of the greatest dogs I have ever been around. His name is Zeus and he doesn't let Alicia out of his sight. John and Alicia are great people and I am so thankful I was able to camp with them once again. The fact that they own a company where they make great knives is just the icing on top of the cake.

Sincerely,

Jeremy

I really enjoyed looking at your photos from this trip! I love camping photos and it looks like a great time for all. Everything is so green! Beautiful place. That dog looks like a larger version of my Blitz!! Thanks for sharing!!

Sincerely,

John

J.J. - If you ever get a chance to try out a hammock, you should do it. They are much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground in a tent. Although they may not always be easy to get out of, you will find yourself not wanting to get out right away. I hope you can do a little camping again sometime. It is a very relaxing time for me, especially when it is with great people like those in the pics here.

Jeremy, looking at a previous photo of your gifts some time ago, what is that "ultra fire thing you got there? Is it a compact heater? just curious. Blitz is the same way with me, he is my shadow. Blitz was our rescue about five or six years ago, he's now about 11 or 12 now.

Had me a good hammock, out back in the woods, till a tree took it out.  Got it from a shop on Cape Hattaras, some years back.

Third camp out of the year was a success. I had a camp out fr the kids I teach on Wednesday nights at church. I decided to have the camp out at the church, where would have a bath room, be close to home and it is a place all the younger ones are comfortable, I told the kids, the next on will be in the woods. We had a great turn out and everyone seemed to have fun. Couldn't have asked for better weather.

It is so good to see them having fun and learning to use tools (knives)  A healthy respect for the tool is essential !

Looks like a good time!!
