I am looking for some information on dating the year of Cattaraugus knives. I have found information on their numbering system on the blades used to represent patterns, handle materials, and other characteristics but nothing on dates. Any help would be appreciated.

Info other than dating

Unfortunately Cattaraugus did not change its tang stamp much if at all during the years it was in business 1890-1963. This can make dating them by Tang very difficult. Sometimes they will list a patent number and you can try dating it that way. Also you can look in old catalog reprints to try and match the model. This method, much the same as the patent number, will usually only give you a date range
