Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Greets all, Well figured I would share. In August of 07 I was diagnosed with stage 4 head and neck cancer. For those unfamiliar with staging. There is no stage 5 !  I was given 6 months to live.

Having a daughter and wife to care for as well as a lust for life, I chose to battle like there was no tomorrow ! And in my case that expression means more then most.

I had a incredable team of Dr's, I went through 37 rounds of radiation, 13 rounds of chemo. To say the least it was no picnic, but when faced with your own mortality you just "do what you have to do"

Last week I had my 2 year follow up scan and the results are in  I am in complete remission. For the moment I have kicked cancers butt !

No matter what we are faced with in this world, keep sted-fast and determined, and you too will over come.

That is fantastic, Glenn. I can't imagine what it must have been like to be told you only had 6 months left to live. Must have been extremely sobering. You must be one tough cookie! And one we are so glad to have here among us now. Thank you for sharing this personal glimpse into your and your family's situation.
Thank much Scott. Sobering indeed, and thrilled to still be here alive as well as involved on this board... Glenn
Hiya Kyley, Thanks for the note. I came through the tubes a better person in fact, I appreciate all around me perhaps more then most. GK
I need to read discussions more, just came across this Glenn. What an incredible story! So glad you posted it.
Glen,

I just read this too ..

Do enjoy every day !!!!

Dale.
You are an inspiration to me. I'll stop whining about my lesser ills and try to press on with your determination. Glad you're doing well, Glenn!
Glenn, this is great news! I bet your positive outlook and will to beat it and not take No for an answer was a major factor! I know way too many people who hear the C word and they shrivel up and figure it's a lost cause. But far too many people have shown that a positive attitude and lust for life is a powerful ally to fight with! Good luck and God bless!
My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor. My cousin b4 age of one year, was diagnosed with Lukemia.Thru love, hope, and a big help from God,my cousin now has 2 amazing kids.I call them miracle babies because the doctors assured her family that she would never have children due to all radiation treatment. My Father, overcame two cancerous tumors, and I feel lucky to have that many survivors in my family.
