Yep - that's the one! It's a mid range knife that is growing in demand. When introduced, it was an inexpensive boot that had a level of quality because it was from Seki, Japan. These days, it's value is growing. No sheath? No biggy. As an investment piece, yea, it will make a difference. As a collectible - not that much. 

Your's looks to be in great shape. Well done.

The Explorer 21-296...as in the Sting boot knife? Nice! With the bone grips, Seki Japan?  OK - that one is a keeper. It's a boot, one can never have enough boot knives, and it's Seki. 

Black sheath or brown?
