This Knife was in storage for the last 30 years . I have the Al Mar squares for the handle. If any one knows anything about these knives could you let me know . thanks.

This was one of Al's largest knives. I served with Al in Special Forces and bought at least most of his knives as they came out. This knife was a monster, it was dangerous just getting it out of the sheath. I never did carry this one in combat - but I sure did carry the "SOG One Zero" knife and Al made a great version of this legendary knife (as did SOG Specialties, I have their early numbered knives for the 5 years I was in combat).

I got this thing about 30 years ago and actually forgot about it. It was in a baox in its sheath and when I found it the little squares were actually laying in the bottom of the box.
It has some dicoloration on the blade from being in the sheath for so long. Im not a collector my self but would love for my 14 year old to start a hobby that doesnt includeitting in front of the tv. Might be something we could do together.If I clean it up the knife would look like new and it is marked seki japan not america on the blade. Is it a starter? Sorry I didnt answer earlier but I live in Belize and have been on a business trip to Guatemala this week.

Thanks Sere it hasent been used but packed in a box for almost 30 years the discoloration is from the sheath. It says sekie japan not USA. thanks for the help I am trying to get my 14 year old into a hobby we can do together and not in fron of the tv.would it be a good started for his collection?

It's an Al Mar #4011 Pathfinder. And it is the largest AMK ever made.
Blade Steel is AM-6 HRC 57-59 with brass guard and Dupont Zytel handle.

What is marked on the blade; USA Seki-Japan or Seki-Japan ?

Looks pretty well used...
