Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hello All,

I may be all washed up but with existing clues and knowns along with a couple of mine, do you think it could be?

1) 4 3/8"

2) Pen and Spear opposite ends

3) Swell Center

4) Page 33

5) Pattern #46

And a couple from me although I could be wrong....

1) Think #26, #36, #46 pattern

2) A whale in the ocean in simplist term be called ?

3) When you hear someone get excited and Say it was a Whaler..... What is the word that comes into mind?

I like the name.....

Alan,

I agree I like the name.  I take the newest clue to be page 33 in the David Anthony book that was released last year

Jan,

May not be the GEC book???

OMG!  Maybe a swellcenter sunfish!!  Wouldn't that be sweet???  I never noticed the 26-36-46 progression before - that would make a lot of sense though.

Alan,

I beleive it refers to David Anthony's Great Eastern Cutlery book.  BUT, that clue may be too obvious and it could be another book.

Rusty,

Wow, like the idea of a swell center sunfish

The suspense is killing me!!!!

Jan,

If the clue is from David's book which I do not think it is, The "original" has to be in context with what is written on page 33 since there are no photos.  Swell Center Sunfish comes to mind and makes very good sense given the clues and the proggresion of the pattern #'s.  The name Whaler can indicate "Big" as well as "Fish"

Then again I could be just hopeful?

Well Folks It IS.......... A Platts Swell Center Toenail, I knew it. This thing is going to be Sweet.. Confirmed on GEC website, It is references another post from the AAPK site.

Alan

Well, that sounds good to me.

I don't know if I'm in the biggest hurry to add one to the collection, but I'll get to it.

Alan,

Your certainly correct.  The pattern was introduced on the Great Eastern Cutlery today, we had a chance this afternoon to hold that knife and it is a pure joy to see such a wonderful old pattern brought back to life in a very handsome way.  If you are a toenail collector this will be one of those HAVE TO HAVE knives. There will be 30 show knives, 10 per day will be released at the show.  I will take some pics of it tomorrow for you all.  I understand it is extra special.  To those coming to the show SEE YOU SOON

Great, Miss Jan!

Robert,

Look I found us ship, and a whale!!!

wow those are very cool looking knifes jan.thanks for the pictures they are great....
