I usually just look around at knife shops and hardware stores and find knives there.

Shipping has become such a hassel, as well as expense.

Been saving to have a special knife made.  When I get "unpacked" and see what all I have, I will be shopping again.

But, I suppose YES, the shipping keeps me from buying some I might otherwise buy.

You're getting off pretty well Ivars. Over here the shipping company adds a standard fee of close to €15 whenever you have to pay extra taxes.

I've had times where the taxes I had to pay were under €10 and the fee was €15....getting to total extra up to €25.

First off I always check local stores for something I want yet 95 percent of the time they do not. In the past 10 years I have easily purchased over 200 knifes yet less than 10 were purchased locally.

In regards to shipping cost, I use the lowest price with insurance since usually I do not actually need the purchase right away 80 percent of the time. If I do need the item ASAP I will pay the price for two day shipping (usually but not always).

I have not researched shipping code but I think it is safe to say the better Internet stores are working hard to keep cost down for customers (then I could be wrong).

Bottom line is I need to purchase online a good deal, I make a good living hence no issues here.

"Will Higher Shipping Rates Influence Your Knife Buying?"

No. But I like shipping deals when, and if, I can get them.

Thank Kevin, I wish I could purchase more locally too. Pretty limited selection and a lot of"junk". I do rely on internet for most.

Me too Craig, I sure do like those SMKW $5.00 shipping deals! Plus I don't know if checked Amazon recently but you hit $25.00 and its free shipping. I like that too!
