I recently bought a Kershaw OD-1 at wal-mart.... yes i said wal-mart. I could not beleive how amazing this knife is! It is a frame lock with one steel side and one G10 side(with steel liner). It has the Hinderer Lock Stop (Hidden behind the pocket clip). It is a flipper only open knife but the flipper is like none other ive seen. The flipper is a not connected to the blade like the others. When you open the knife (which is QUICK ) the flipper does not stick out from the handle. So when the knife is open you have a nice flush handle. Its hard to explain how the flipper works, its one of those things you have to take apart to understand. The knife is made in the USA. The blade is made out of Sandvick stainless. The blade is about 3inches. And lastly the pocket clip fits in 3 positions ( tip up/ tip down for righties and tip up for lefties). Solid lock-up and razor sharp blade ( no serations). At wal-mart they had it for $35. Looking for other people's opinions/ reviews of this knife.
Kershaw Model 1775 OD-1 is a pretty slick tool. It opens great and with authority. I hope to get the OD-2 soon even if it is made in China. The handle kinda surprised me because you usually only see pictures of the obverse textured black G-10 side. The reverse, frame-lock side is pure stainless steel. Easy to carry, easy to use I enjoy carrying it and the way the flipper hides always is a good conversation starter among my knife-collecting friends.
The only thing I think it is missing is a little jimping on the back of the blade since the hidden flipper does make the knife very sleek and smooth. Its not really a concern for me since I rarely and poking holes with it with significant force, but the added jimping would be a nice touch.
