Whenever I'm deciding which of my EDC blades to take with me for the day I always have a hard time choosing. I always end up carrying more than one, Five to be exact. Does anyone else have a hard time deciding which knife to carry so you end up taking more than one? If so which two do you have the most trouble with deciding on?

i don't know if this counts, but i always carry a bigger blade (kershaw ram atm), and i have a Gerber artifact on a carabiner, wich also has a blade.
William,
Yes I carry more than one knife each and every day. Starting on the bottom (smallest) a promotional knife from DeWitt Chemical which has a razor blade, nail file, and screwdriver/cap lifter, this guy is 40+ years old. Civilian version of the Swiss Army Soldier. CRKT M16-13 my main work knife. Last Cold Steel Gunsite.

In addition to these, over the years I have carried, Case, Schrade, Tree, Spyderco, Wostenholm, Frost, Parker, and I think, when I was a teenager a small Marbles while hunting. I didn't understand for years, why the blade turned blue after I dressed out a deer.

As a boy, I went to a one room school house and I remember occasions when the teacher would ask if one of the boys would lend her a knife and got multiple offers. In that same school house, I actually carried a switchblade for a couple of years. Yaah, I know, but they weren't illegal back then and I was only 9 or 10 years old. Today you would be expelled if you brought a Blade or KI magazine to school.

Wow, I feel relatively naked. I usually only carry a Benchmade 940 Osborne alone, clipped inside a front pocket. More than that seems too much because I only have two hands and need the free one to hold whatever it is I am going to cut. I used to keep a SAK Cybertool for use in the datacenter but have since acquired more specialized tools for that. The only times I have more than one knife though is when I'm planning show and tells at work during my lunch hour.

To be fair I occasionally carry something else for a day or two because it is new or the mood strikes me. But I always come back to the Benchmade. When I am traveling I will leave the Benchmade in favor of a Leatherman Micra.

Lately I have been thinking of rotating more knives into the rotation, though still one at a time. The problem is I am also a collector and would have to buy two of everything, one to carry and beat up, and one for the safe. It sounds more reasonable than feasible.

...if I only cary one believe this will be it...more excited about this one than any knife I have bought in last 10 years

hope this helps
Max-
glad you enjoyed them...you can see there is a method to my madness in the relatively wide blade vs their length, and cutout on the choil for my favorite fixed blades- RC3, spydie fred perrin, and the ckc hiker...I find the cutout tremendously useful in a multipurpose, daily cary...also in the woods, cleaning game and fish when the hands can become dirty, slimy, and or bloody it has no equal...also great for fine work when making the perfect marshmellow stick for the kids!

The recurve on the spyderco makes it a tremendous slicer even thought it is relatively
thick...while not a true replacement for the spydie(fred perrin originaly designed the spydie as more of a hideout tactical) looks like Kyley's new clip point variant of the hiker has a similar recurve blade, at half the weight, and with the thinner blade and superior edge magic Kyley works on his knives that no production knife can match, I bet the clip point hiker will give the spydie a run for it's money in my kit - at about one third of the cost...it's on my wishlist already
Well I carry more than two!
Mini Pentagon: Self defense
Leatherman Charge: Multi-tool/multi-blades. It has a fully serrated blade, full plain/straight edge, wood saw, and lots of other goodies I can honestly say get daily use(work or I am just bored).
i will have anywhere from 2-6 knives on depending on what my plans are for the day....i know i have a problem but like they say "better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it"
Six is the number. In the front pocket goes a Case Sodbuster JR., and a Schrade Uncle Henry Stockman. Then cliped to each front pocket is a Spyderco Tenacious and the other pocket is a Spyderco Native. Then in each of the rear pockets is a Cold steel, Gunsite Tanto Large and A Cold Steel x-large Voyager. On the belt goes a Gerber multi-tool, or does that count as seven! Living in Western Kentucky I don't get a second glance.
I guess I carry 2. An Emerson in my right front pocket and a Swiss Army Alox on my key chain.
