Great pics Mike, whoever took them. The pushbutton knives are becoming increasingly harder to find. As we discovered in our Schrade chat last night very rare and a great concept ahead of its time.
Hi Steve!
I am a member of the sharper deals forum, the pics were submitted by a friend who's handle is "jackalope"
Under the American switchblade forums. check it out sometime, bring a towel so you wont drool all over your computer with some of the pics posted there! :-)
I agree they are great pics.
I had the opportunity to talk(email) with Mark Erikson who wrote the book "Antique American Switchblades"
Yesterday and he told me he had some that he would help me start my collection with, but i haven't heard back from him yet.(hope he doesn't forget me :-( )
Thanks for your reply Steve, keep me in mind.....................................
Mike,
Now that is an amazing opportunity. Let us know what the next piece in the collection is.
Mike, don't get too excited if you see this response because no I don't have a Antique push button knife for you. But I did think it was interesting that the whole concept of push button knives is gaining momentum again.
It is amazing as the trend continues, Meyerco, CRKT and Kershaw all sporting some kind of push button, safety, assisted open knives. Ah...whats old is new again!
I love pen knives. These are fantastic
Hi,
Got in touch and bought a pressbutton, should be here next week.
I'll post some pics after it gets here.
regards,
Mike A.
Mike that is awesome congratulations a fine looking knife! I am guessing 7409SSD. The one hardware store in St. Louis is named Shapleigh Hardware and I think they made some knives too going out of business in 1960.

Hello Stephen,
Not really sure how many were made, but i was told this one didn't come from Missouri but out of a collection in the east and is 100 years old.
