Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hey guys, i picked this little guy up today at a carboot sale. Its a beauty! Extremely well used, blades look as if they have been sharpened with an angle grinder!

Im not quite sure what it is, its like a sparton but it does not have the keyring or toothpick or tweezers

but it has a fluted cork screw, nice! And the awl has no sewing eye

ive enclosed a few pics for you guys to check it out

I would love to hear your opinions on this find

Oh yea, it cost me 50 cent!! Seen as it was so battered when i picked it up, the guy said 50c top to bottom!! I didnt even try haggle for a better price!!

Looks like a "Standard", which is an older Spartan without inserts and sometimes without keyring. You should be able to clean that blade up some with some hard work and the right tools and polish paste.

Hi Wayne, thanks for your advice on this one. I will definitely try to clean them blades up. The smaller pen blade is in very bad condition. What year would you say it is? Its got the four looped cork screw so would that be 1983 onwards?

Hard to beat Wayne when it comes to SAK knowledge.  Another vote for the  "Standard"  If it had the keyring it would be a Spartan  SABI 5064.  According to the SAK WIKI  Victorinox only made the Standard model without a Key Ring. However they did make Spartans with solid scales without toothpick and tweezer.  I could've sworn I had the same knife with the key ring (and just might) but the closest thing I have that has been photographed is a Vic Assistant, which is in the 84mm Tourist/Sportsman family.
