You can see the gap and the epoxy in the butt of the knife. Also see how rough the epoxy is down in the knife. also see the groove where the blade cut into the epoxy. Nice huh?

The orig question is did queen put epoxy in the butt of a Mtn man?

I am certainly not a Queen expert but I am willing to bet the knife did not leave their factory in that condition.  Even if epoxy was used to secure the scales prior to the pins being placed, it would not have been like that.  I saw that you had said in the chat it was an ebay purchase, can you file a dispute with them?

Yes I can go to the resolution center but first Ill give the seller a chance to refund me. I have been getting alot of below standard knives from ebay lately but have all been refunded. I believe people dump their problem knives on feebay hoping they will go away quietly. I would just wish people would be more truthful about the junk they sell.

 Wow, "New in box" dont mean what it use to. People just have no honor these days. A mans word dont mean much anymore, maybe Im just getting old and not up with the times. If thats the case count me out.

I agree with Miss Jan, Queen would not have let a knife like that leave the factory in that condition, unless it was a second. You must be careful of all knife dealers. The web is a spot that the crooked SOB's can try to take advantage of us happy, trusting souls so please be carefull. Never spend too much on there without knowing the seller well.

 Im not an expert but Im not blind either. That NIB has some real problems

Now this is my sweet heart Queen Schatt ATS34 and pretty near perfectio.

I'm a definite fan of Queen Cutlery .. from old to new. While the fit-n-finish on my Queen Cutlery is a tad shy of the best .. the material they use always makes up for it .. I've never had reason to complain. 

IMO ... can't imagine it left the factory with a cracked scale. The wear on the blade is just that .. wear marks .. that require time to develop !!!

Yes I think someone rebuilt that older knife and did a poor job.  Seller still wants me to believe its new in box. Im just not that dumb. A blind man can see that.

like they said it might be a factory seconds some people on e-bay will sell those as NIB but not tell you they are seconds.make sure you know the dealer and he or her backs thier knives up,it is sad that all some people want is the most money they can get....
