Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Having the time to see Ken Daniels is always a treat.  His making the time to give us his thoughts on the new venture was awesome!  I asked some basic questions I thought we might like to know with the promise of his being able to answer some more specifics as time goes on.

1)  How does it feel to realize a dream this big?

Ken:  The best word I can use to describe it is PUMPED.  Exciting things are happening for us.

2)  What is the first order of business?

Ken:  Appoint Jennie Moore as the President.  Having been with Queen 25 years, she knows the workings of the company, the people that work there and our customers.  She was an obvious choice.

3)  And after that?

Ken:  Implement the steps to begin controlling a consistently quality knife. Making those steps better and easier is something I will let you speak with Jennie about.

Well those were all the questions I asked of Ken.  I can tell you the atmosphere at their area was charged with energy.  All three folks representing Queen were happy to speak with, share a handshake and just spend time with everyone that stopped by.

Tomorrow I will see if I can read my own notes on the questions I asked Jennie (LOL).  Are there more questions we want to ask Ken or maybe Ryan?  What are the burning questions you have?

With her cup of coffee, her warm smile and sincere handshake.  You feel like your talking with a friend you have not seen lately. I asked a few questions of her also.

While in talks to become the President of Queen, your daughter got married (congrats), the factory was being set up for a few refits.  Has any of it hit yet?

.Jennie:  It has become real this weekend, I slowed down long enough to do this fantastic show and have met new and old friends.  Yeah, I think it is real to me now

What is the difference?  You have been with the company 20 plus years, is there a difference?

Jennie: The folks at the plant, including myself have an intensified passion, the excitement is something you can feel it is so real

Whats the first order of business?

Jennie: Reorganizing some personal and positions.  We need to make quality a consistent part of the process, with clear direction and some new equipment.

What do you envision in the next year?

Jennie: That one is pretty easy.  More/better equipment, More employees, sales growth.  All f this is dependent on a raised level of customer satisfaction.  That is the key to it all

What type of equipment are you moving in?

Jennie:  Hey you want to see some of it?

I guess you are pretty serious about new equipment when you willing to take down a wall to get it in LOL!

Now that is a commitment, in my world it makes perfect sense....need a bigger door....done!

Congratulations Jennie on your new position. It is quite an amazing thing when someone from within an organization, can come in and assume a leadership position. iKC wishes you well and has every confidence in you!

First off, congratulations to Ken and the whole Queen team. Clearly the knife world is very competitive. Every company is vying for market share. How will Queen respond to the pressures in place , what will distinguish them and how do they get collectors fired up about what they offer?

Hog your excatly right the markets are very competitive but they were 6 years ago when we started GEC. I feel like with the history and craftmanship of Queen and The Daniels Family connections for dealers and materials that in time we can bring you a very diverse line of USA made knives that can reach out to sevral markets.

Well that sounds like a good way to distinguish yourself in todays knife market.  The history of this company and the history of the Daniels name in knife making make a good team

Good luck with the reorganization...Hope to see some nice small flashy knives come out of the Queen world !...

Please Promote American Made !

Sue

This is going to be a plus, especially the quality control.I have always loved Queen knives, but some had quality issues. I am excited about the new ownership and direction that Queen is headed in. GEC has become my favorites because of the quality of them.
