A member of iKC and a member of the extended Champlin family, Derek Smith had this to say about his new offering under this family owned tang

Hello fellow knife nuts.
This is something I've been working on for a long, long time.
I'm very pleased to see it finally coming together.

Thanks for posting this Jan!

It's been very exciting to watch as GEC posts photos of the knife parts

as they are being made.  We should have finished knives about Nov. 14th.

Good looking Jack!

Now that is a beautiful Tang!

That is something, its like watching history being made!

Hi All, I was gald to see that Jan posted this for Derek and I. Thius whole thing has been a labor of love for sure. Here are some pictures that we just recieved from GEC showing the bone handled knives almost done. I can't believe how great that bone looks. We were trying to have them look vintage and I think that GEC has done that. Take a look and tell us what you think!!!

Is that Amber Bone? They look good!

Good question Craig, They may be amber I am not sure but I AM sure I like 'em!

They call the color walnut and the jigging pattern is #3, and as I said before they really did a great jpob of making them antique looking!!

That long pull did me in!  I ordered mine

Thanks Steve,

It sure feels like history for us.

JBF was such an important fellow in his day, that we really wanted to

create something befitting.  It's a tall order.

That has got to be the nicest bone I've ever seen, Michael. They've done an awesome job.

Thanks J.J., that quite a compliment coming from you.
