Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

At the request of our members, please upload your picture and real name.

iKnifeCollector is more than about knives and collecting: it is about you and me- the members.

If you haven't already noticed, iKC provides for a more personal interaction among its members than any other place on the web. We understand many folks have created and established an online nickname and identity, but we ask our members to use their real name (if you want to add your nickname to your name too, that's cool) and also to use their actual photo. We have thousands of pics uploaded by our members into photo albums and there you can add some of the others you want associated with your profile.

One of our members recently wrote an excellent post I'd ask you to read- this tells it like it is and why we like to get to know our members on a more personal basis. Check it out.

Thanks for your participation and support-
Scott

scott i'd like to add my real photo but i dont have a camera and i really dont feel comfortable adding my whole name but thats just how i am
Hey Michael.... I am fine, and I'm sure the other members are too with you using your first (or middle) name. You know it is the wildmancat type names that are hard to relate too. Regarding the camera....I understand. Let me ask you....do you own a cell phone? Does it have a camera? Just curious.

O.K. Scott, I will work on doing that, I picture of me that is: However once folks see how ulgy I am I wonder if I will get anymore friends?
Jim Prather... AKA, Uncle Jim. And the other pretty one is the lovely Ain't Donna.
I have better hair than she does. But that's about all. She has me beat hands down in
all other departments!

UncleJim and Ain't Donna
Hey Jim, AKA, Uncle Jim! Thanks for helping make community oh so real. Whoever said, iKC is just a virtual club?

Thanks too for introducing, Ms. Ain't Donna (or is that Aunt Donna?) Ya know it really is like Steve Wells said, when iKC first opened up, "What a fantastic way to meet collectors. It is like they are coming in your own house, and having a cup of coffee."

Allow me to introduce my clan (for the first time here, incidentally)- I took this tonight- well it was yesterday actually cause it's 2 am the next day now, but I won't get bogged down in technicalities.

Pictured from the left- Kim, Reagan 14 (in Jan), Shelby 16, & Sadie- 20 yrs old and a jr in college.
Then my 18 year old son, Jake in a picture we took for his senior year book earlier this year

OH! My Stars and Garters... What a BEAUTIFUL family! You and Kim must really have your hands full. Especially Kim. She's "The Momma", ya' know. You are, indeed, a very fortunate man. That's a GREAT lookin family.

Oh, please don't be offended, but I like your other avitar better. There was no mistaking who was making a post. Yes, you're a handsome devil in the new one, but the old one was just unique.

Love to all... UJ
Thanks for the compliments on my family. Now that they are older in some ways things have calmed down a bit....but not in others....

On the avatar....well I just figured as we grew here at iKC fewer and fewer folks would feel they could relate to a guy in a tie-dye shirt and sunglasses and one who collects toenails...really it was that simple. Plus, I suffer from the "rearrange the room" syndrome too. Everyone else freely changes their avatar but me...so I decided to too.
"Plus, I suffer from the "rearrange the room" syndrome too. "

Now, that's just SICK! You probably have a clean garage, don't you? I've heard of your kind!

New member , photo and name added.Off to check the new digs out.Hello to everyone.Dave
Hey David. You are a good man, Thanks!
I agree. Some people may have a need for privacy. That's understandable.
Some young ladies might not want to use the most glamorous photos they have on hand.
Some ultra famous knifemakers may find they get pestered. But I think that would be extremely rare.
On other forums I have spoken (in text) with at least two COO's of large knifemaking companies.
Likewise with several Guild members and Mastersmiths.

And should you have a problem, I am sure Scott would help you change back to an anon. screen name.
Let's all be neighbors. Knife people are good people. Truly the best group of people I have ever met. And I have been meeting them since 1994.
No prob. First name's are OK, but we do have a bunch of John and Steve's, so for common names the last initial would be great. Antti- I think you're OK.
