The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I picked up this knife at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. They have a 72 ounce steak that if you can eat it in one hour, you get it free. You also have to eat the sides, a baked potato and a salad. The last time I was there, two fellows were trying it. One almost made it. You could tell he was hurting and he just couldn't quite finish his potato.
I have been there three times. They used to have rattlesnake on their menu. But I was terribly disappointed. They were always out when I was there. My wife told me if I got it, I would have to eat at a different table.
Their menu said, "Little meat and many bones. But your complaining will get you a live one."
Anyway the main reason I made this post was to ask if the symbol in the circle on the knife handle means anything to anybody. It looks to me like it might be WC or KC.

The knife design looks closely like an older Smith and Wesson design. Taylor Brand Knives import the Chinese made S&W knives so my guess this is a copy. Bought in quantity this knife most likely cost the Steak House $3 to $4 each. Being advertising I would say they wrote the expense off as advertising. Now Taylor Brand Knives which are made in China are well made knives. My 89 year old Dad loves his Smith & Wesson Stiletto Liner Lock Dagger. It retails for about $25. He uses it for opening letters, working in the garden and his wood working shop and spares no abuse. Every time I go to visit him I check the knife for damage, loose blade and other signs of poor workmanship...and to this date have found zero. I was impressed and surprised. I would say you have a good little pocket knife there.
They do have barf buckets ready beside you while you are trying to do it. While I was there neither fellow used his. But you could tell that the fellow who almost finished his was in bad pain.

I have a friend who is a Oklahoma City Deputy Marshal who has eaten this stake twice. This boy can eat.
So I sent an email to the resteraunt and they replied :)
Hi Jan!
That was a knife that our giftshop used to carry. The WC in the
circle is the manufacturers branding.

Okay, now I'm speculating, and only speculating but I wonder if it was made by Frost on a Whitetail Cutlery frame? It looks like some of their knives they put in their wild life series knives that they sell on a card with 12 knives strapped to it. (you see them in the 100 knives for a $100 deals.
LOL!!! Big Help! LOL!! It is an old S&W designed knife which use to have the S&W logo in the circle. They buy these knives by the 1,000.

No it is cheaper than the Frost. It is an old S&W knife design. Schrade has very similar ones. Schrade being made by Taylor Brand Knives.

Clint not arguing with who'd designed it or even who made it. . More wondering about who slapped the WC on it. As in the brand. This is why I was thinking Whitetail but now I'm thiniking Whetstone Cutlery. They are big global importer so they may have had the contract for the store. I'm unaware of Taylor brands using a WC brand on anything.
If you see the American Hunter knives Wild life series, they are a spittin' image. Wouldn't doubt they are also made in the Taylor factory for SMKW. See http://www.smkw.com/webapp/eCommerce/products/American+Hunter/Ameri...
The exact same knife is sold by a dozen different companies.
Some of the best steaks I ever had. Makes me reroute my next road trip to Amarillo. If they have a knife shop on site, forget Dollywood.
Throw in some Jerry Jeff and Gary Nunn for CD , I'll be loaded for Texas.
