Fav RAT Knife?

I guess right now I would have to say the Izula as that is the onlyR.A.T. that I have seen and handled. I did then purchase one and it won't be the last. I am impressed!

i have an rc-6 and love it! have mastered some huge logs with it. the handle is so comfortable (though made for hands larger than mine). my next will be an rc-4 in desert tan, a little easier on the size and weight for a lighter carry option and i love the cool color.

My RC3 Rat Pack knife, just because it's special. My favourite user is the 6 as well.

RAT rc VS ONTARIO rat

I like the ontario rat-7 but what about the rc6
rc-6 blade is less thin 6''
and i like the 6.5 blade of the rat-7 6.5' blade
what do you all think

Well I think RAT made some much need improvements and changes when they left partnership with Ontario, not to mention many new knives. But I do agree on the blade lengths. A longer, RC-7 would be nice to see. Sometimes 6.5" just isn't enough in a survival/camp situation. I think there's a fair-sized market out there for a larger blade as well.

I just got the RC-5. Although it doesn't have the length of the RAT-7 it sure does have some heft to it! I am curios too see how it chops.

the length is definitely better for the rat-7, however the quality on the rc-6 leaves the rat-7 wanting. also, the sheath that comes with the rc-6 is molded plastic sheath that holds excellently, whereas the rat-7 comes with a cordura sheath with a kydex insert. its not a great sheath IMO. not bad... but could be much better. so i guess its whats important to you. i prefer the knife quality and sheath that the rc-6 provide, over the bit of length that the rat-7 has.

It depends on if you get your knife through Rowen or Ontario as for the sheath and the quality of the knife itself. I only get mine through Rowen. I dont think the Rat5 can be beat. It will chop wood and do about anything you need it for. I have many satisfied customers with this knife. Personally I am a big fan of all the Rats. I would have to say my least favorite is the HEST. Not too tactical for my taste, but still the great quality of a RAT. IT is small and light weight.
