Thanks Andy! The little Abalone with the snap clip was my first Al Mar knife. I was so impressed by the little thing that I wanted to collect all of them. I ran across someone selling the engraved ones just by chance. It took me several months to buy up his collection. He had some matching Hawks and I snagged three of them before they were all gone.

Love the Ospreys set
Good looking knives, indeed

I finally got the rest of the Ospreys I've been obsessing over. I'm pleased with the set. I even got the discontinued Briar Wood Burl. :D

LOL! That's a fact. You aren't kidding about needing the support group.
..."Hi, my name is David and I haven't bought a knife in three days" [applause around the room] ;)
My wife is in AA and if I told her how hard it is for me to not buy every nice knife I see, she would make me go with her. ;)

David...
LOL! I know what you are saying. I have a thing for swing guard and melon knives. I have to stay off of ebay as there is always a melon knife there. I have many of the melon knives. Case is sending me one too. LOL! We need to start a support group and Jan can be our group leader.

Yeah, they are like tiny little works of art. I can't stop buying them. ;-)

David....
Thanks for the pictures. These are great little knives. The only Al Mar I own is the belt buckle.

I'm having trouble stopping getting these little knives. I just got the Black Micarta and Mother of Pearl and just ordered an Osprey and a Hawk with Briar Wood scales. I think the Briar Wood has been discontinued.

I just added a couple more Ospreys to my collection. From Left to Right: Cocobolo, Black Pearl, Abalone, Stag and Honey Jigged Bone. The one in the Abalone with the clip is my keychain EDC. ;-)

Thanks Clint. I just ordered two more in Black Pearl and Cocobolo from the same guy I got the bone and stag ones from. I'm trying to clean him out as paydays permit. ;-) I'll post pics of the new ones when they come in next week.

This original Al Mar print t shirt(slightly worn) was a steal on ebay at $300, yikes!! I'd like to clarify that I took the image but not the t shirt!

Would like to add mint condition Eagle of same vintage to turn into a safe queen, any idea what I could reasonably expect to pay????
Comment by Gregory.J on June 15, 2012 at 5:32
I think it was a bargain, it appears to have the original edge. Good thing about used knives- they don't become safe queens...

Got this 5" vintage Eagle folder with Ivory Micarta Scales on the weekend off fleabay- a $50 special. My first older Al Mar, love the steel, probably Aus8- no wobble, no worries...Question - is Micarta addictive?
